Choose the Right 18650 Cell for Your Battery Project
PERSISTINVISITING 3.7V 18650 rechargeable lithium-ion battery cells are available in four configurations designed for different capacity, discharge, weight, and power requirements.
Whether you need a lightweight cell for basic electronics, a balanced option for everyday battery projects, or a higher-discharge cell for more demanding applications, you can select the version that best matches your battery pack design.
Each product is supplied as a single 18650 battery cell. These cells can be used individually or assembled into compatible series or parallel battery configurations by users with appropriate battery-building knowledge.
Four Battery Options for Different Applications
1200mAh Gray – Lightweight Basic Version
The 1200mAh gray version weighs approximately 34g, making it the lightest option in this series. It is suitable for basic rechargeable electronics and battery projects where reducing total battery weight is important.
- Capacity: 1200mAh
- Internal Resistance: 25–50mΩ
- Weight: Approx. 34g
- Best For: Lightweight and lower-demand battery applications
1500mAh Blue – Balanced 5C Version
The 1500mAh blue version features a 5C discharge rating and 16–19mΩ internal resistance, offering a practical balance between current output, battery weight, and usable capacity.
- Capacity: 1500mAh
- Discharge Rating: 5C
- Internal Resistance: 16–19mΩ
- Weight: Approx. 40g
- Best For: Moderate-load and general-purpose battery projects
1800mAh Black – Balanced Capacity Version
The 1800mAh black version provides higher capacity while maintaining relatively low internal resistance. It is a versatile option for users who want longer runtime without specifically requiring a dedicated high-discharge cell.
- Capacity: 1800mAh
- Internal Resistance: 18–24mΩ
- Weight: Approx. 42g
- Best For: General battery pack rebuilding and rechargeable electronics
2000mAh Red – High-Discharge 10C Version
The 2000mAh red version is designed for more demanding battery projects. Its 10C discharge rating and 12–16mΩ low internal resistance support stronger current delivery and reduced voltage drop under load.
- Capacity: 2000mAh
- Discharge Rating: 10C
- Internal Resistance: 12–16mΩ
- Weight: Approx. 42g
- Best For: Higher-current battery pack and power applications

Series Configuration Reference
This product is sold as a single 3.7V 18650 lithium-ion battery cell. Multiple matching cells may be connected in series when building a compatible battery pack.
Connecting cells in series increases voltage while the Ah capacity remains the same as one individual cell.
- 1S: 3.7V nominal / 4.2V fully charged
- 2S: 7.4V nominal / 8.4V fully charged
- 3S: 11.1V nominal / 12.6V fully charged
- 4S: 14.8V nominal / 16.8V fully charged
- 5S: 18.5V nominal / 21.0V fully charged
- 6S: 22.2V nominal / 25.2V fully charged
- 7S: 25.9V nominal / 29.4V fully charged
- 10S: 37.0V nominal / 42.0V fully charged
Example: Five 2000mAh cells connected in series create an approximately 18.5V 2000mAh battery pack. Series connection increases voltage but does not add Ah capacity.
Important: Multi-cell lithium-ion battery packs require a compatible BMS/protection circuit and a charger designed for the complete battery pack voltage. Do not use a single-cell 4.2V charger to charge a multi-cell series battery pack.
Important Purchase Notes & Usage Guidelines
- Verify Compatibility: Before purchasing, confirm the required cell size, voltage, capacity, discharge capability, terminal type, and battery configuration.
- First Charge Recommendation: Use a compatible lithium-ion charging system and fully charge the cell before first use where appropriate.
- Match Cells in Battery Packs: When assembling multi-cell packs, use cells with matching model, capacity, voltage, internal resistance, and state of charge whenever possible.
- Proper Storage & Maintenance: Store cells in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight, high temperatures, moisture, and conductive metal objects.
- Safety & Operation: Do not short-circuit, crush, puncture, disassemble, expose to water, or place cells near fire or excessive heat.
